We are Toby’s new parents! We adopted Toby about four months ago and he has turned out to be a joy for us. We are empty nester’s now, but Toby has become our new baby boy. At first, he was afraid of his surroundings a tad and was not sure where his bathroom was – the living room carpet, or the backyard… But he is very intelligent and for a puppy we were amazed how fast he trained.
Toby is perhaps the most loving pet we know, and a little character as well. He will stand in the living room near his toys and bark until you play fetch. He will stand on his back legs in front of you until you pick him up and carry him around while you do chores. Sleeps in cozy pj’s every night at the foot of the bed and never – almost never – makes a sound.
On Toby’s first visit to the dog park he proved himself to be a champ. He ‘kissed’ every dog in the park and ran around, greeting all the dog owners with his little tail wagging away. Toby loves our Grand children and their 70 pound Australian Sheep dog as well. He is quick to hop up and give them a lick or two on the face as it is his way of saying I’m the happiest guy in the world and so lucky to be here and play with you.
Toby eats twice a day. He has a combination of dry and wet food as eating can be a bit of a challenge because of his mouth surgery. He will eat half his meal as best he can and then we scoop the remaining half into a small reachable pile in the center of his little bowl in order for him to eat the remaining food. Toby cleans his bowl dutifully, goes out to the back yard and does his ‘business,’ then cuddles up to whoever is available in the house, content and happy as if to say, ‘thanks for giving me a loving home.’
Best Regards,
Glen and Sheilah
