Daisy was picked up by A Different Breed at an animal shelter, and tested positive for heartworms. A wonderful family in Oklahoma found out about Daisy and they knew right away that she was the dog for them.
One of our ADB volunteers took her in as a foster until her new family could make the trip from Oklahoma to pick her up. As soon as she arrived in Oklahoma she was taken to the vet for her heartworm treatment, and was brought home on Christmas Eve. She is now completely healthy, heart worm free and better than ever! She loves taking walks and seeing all of the kids walking and playing at the park. She will do almost anything for a treat or attention, and sneaks into the master bed when no one is home. She has become an instant member of the family and she knows that she has found her forever home. She is very loyal to her mom and dad, but will share her love with anyone that will let her! She was even introduced to the Guthrie, Oklahoma Chief of Police and she went into his office and immediately put her paw up to shake his hand! She has an interesting human-like respect for our men and women in all uniform. Her new family refers to Daisy as their “Little Christmas Angel”. They are currently working on training her to be used as a Therapy Dog in a Nursing Home. We at ADB are so happy for Daisy and her new family!
